Why can Directv treat people like this

I recently was approved for Directv Services at my home, I took off work to meet there 8-12 install window. by 11:30am no one contacted or showed up. I called Directv and was told my order was cancelled due to the previous owners having an outstanding balance for which they could not tell me anything other then i had to pay it in order to obtain the service. The representative was very condescending and rude, telling me basically its his way or tough luck. I asked for a manager and was put on hold for over 10 minutes and then Hung up on.

 

I have excellent credit, and was instantly approved for 0 down, even set up auto payments for the account. I am being blacklisted due to something I did not do, or had any control over, and being held responsible for it.

 

Very unscrupulous practices which have really given me a bad taste in my mouth. Funny thing is I have an account number now, and shows no money due yet, even though I have no services. I have had wireless with ATT for over ten years, my family does as well, but that will be changing in very near future. I can get bad customer service anywhere, and pay less. the only reason I was with ATT is I bragged about the quality of service, but even that seams to be gone.

 

There is no contact information for anyone in company listed on any websites, they all hide behind poorly trained customer service representatives, and outsourced call centers, but on the website the talk a big game about dedication and a nice sounding pledge to customer satisfaction. All i received was accusations, blame for other peoples mistakes, and a lost day from work. Not even a courtesy email or text about the cancellation, but when my order was processed and approved meaning they were going to be able to make more money, I received over 6 emails confirming the appointment, terms and conditions, schedule, etc. They could at least give the courtesy when the appointment was cancelled to send another and not have me sitting here waiting for a no show appointment.

 

Terrible customer relations, and terrible business practices.

 

Lost a life long client, who will never come back.
