My prepaid sim is not working

I bought the prepaid phone with AT&T and I got message about activation, and I made pay account in website where you guys sent a URL.

And I'm in South korea now. So I wanted change the sim card with korean sim card. and I tried to change at Korean mobile shop, but It was failed. so I just put US sim card again. But It's not working. when I call, the device shows up that my phone is not resistered on network. I did networking reset, turning on/off, putting sim card again, updating software. But It's still not working.

Is this a physical sim card problem? Do I need to change the Sim card? I wanna keep my US number.

Hello, @Eather , thank you for getting back with us.

If you are an AT&T customer traveling abroad, call +1.314.925.6925 for international support.

Most AT&T devices work on foreign frequencies of 1800MHz and 900MHz. In Japan or South Korea, you’ll need a device that can use the 2100MHz frequency.

However, if you're simple purchased an AT&T PREPAID phone and trying to use it in South Korea, then the phone will need to meet our device unlock eligibility requirements, including been active on the AT&T network for at least 6 months.

Let us know if you still need further assistance.

Hello, @Eather, we understand your phone stopped working after you re-inserted your original SIM back into your device. We are here to help you get back connected!

Please make sure your AT&T SIM Card is inserted correctly. You want to make sure your AT&T device is activated, you'll need your wireless number and billing/shipping ZIP Code.

Here are some troubleshooting steps that will be useful:

  1. Check your coverage map to confirm wireless coverage.
  2. Try our helpful troubleshoot and resolve tool to diagnose and fix your service concerns. You'll need to sign in to get personalized help according to your device.

In some cases, you may need a replacement SIM if your device is still unable to connect to the AT&T Network.

Let us know if this helps, thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forums!

Thank you for a response.
I just wonder my device is available in South Korea.  because in AT&T coverage map shows up prepaid is not supported in South Korea and I also some people say prepaid cell phone is not available other overseas, except Canada, Mexico, and Europe.
I wanna know that is true or not.

You're welcome! We are here to help!

AT&T PREPAID is only available in these destinations  if you have AT&T PREPAID Add-on, but you will need to be an AT&T PREPAID customer with active service in the United States.

Thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forums.
