Blocking "Unavailable" versus "Unknown" calls

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 4.0 running Android 4.4.4.  Until a recent software update, all calls without a number showed up as "Unknown" and these were easily blocked in Settings using a checkbox.  Recently, I began to receive several calls a day from "unavailable" and there is unfortunately no option to block that.  These calls come through as normal calls.  The auto-reject list only accepts actual numbers (plus the Unknown checkbox option) so I have no way to block these calls.

Is there any way to block them?  Is there downloadable phone software/apps that are more flexible than the default Samsung/Android/ATT phone software?  I anyone else experiencing this same issue?

(Please don't respond with answers like "just don't answer" etc.  I'm not answering them, I don't want to accept calls from unknown numbers nor do I want my phone ringing 5-10 times per day and I;m looking for practical advice on blocking the call).

Thanks for any advice!

Hi @BBQDan

Unfortunately at this time, there would not be a way to block such calls from getting through. The “Unknown” block in your device settings is performed on a device level. In order for this to continue with the “Unavailable” calls, this would need to be added as a rule in the device settings by Samsung. It appears in this case, as it was changed with the software update, it may be a bug that will be fixed in a future update.

We do offer our own service which can block calls called AT&T Smart Limits, however, this also would be unable to block either Unknown or Unavailable numbers.

Thanks!

Thank you. Is this the sort of thing you can communicate to Samsung so we are sure they are aware of it?

Just so you know, doctor and dentist offices often are "unavailable" for privacy reasons
