Can't unlock ATT LG V60

I want to unlock my LG V60. The phone was bought off ebay so it was not purchased from ATT but have been using it for a year now.

I went through the Device unlock process. I check status and says: Denied. We can’t unlock this device because it’s not an AT&T device.

Any suggestions on next steps?

I tried a T-Mobile sim card but is asking for an unlock code when it boots up.

LG left the mobile business a few years ago. The phone may still function on AT&T or  it's MVNO's, but AT&T may no longer have access to unlock codes if they are not in its database.

You can try filing a better Business bureau complaint. That will force AT&T to do a little extra work and you will get a call from upper management. But if they don't have the codes, they cannot give them to you

Hello @Pickles57, we're here to help get your phone unlocked.

Make sure your phone meets all the device unlock requirements mentioned here: https://www.att.com/support/article/wireless/KM1262649 prior to submitting your request.

If a phone is purchased from a non-AT&T authorized dealer, third party sellers or sites like eBay, AT&T may be unable to unlock the device. Before purchasing the device, make sure the seller performs the unlock request.

In some instances, you will have to contact the seller to perform the request. If the device was purchased by another provider, they should have online resources to unlock the device.

Let us know if this helps, and thank you for contacting the AT&T Community Forums.

Thanks guys for the feedback. I have decided to go to another AT&T MVNO.

Is there a special code that is needed from AT&T to port a number to a different provider? The only codes I have are a login passcode for my online account and a PIN.

I have tried both but they say it comes back as incorrect.

OK, so I figured it out.

Evidently you need to request a port over PIN. Different from all Pins associated with your account. To get the PIN you just dial *7678 from the phone you want to port and Viola!

It's been ported and confirmed it works.

If only this was readily available on the your AT&T account page. If it was, I sure missed it.

Thanks again for the replies. Porting to an AT&T MVNO is the answer for AT&T phones you can't unlock.
