Can't unlock my IMEI

To start, i bought this phone of of ebay 2 years ago from a trusted seller, the thing was that it was locked by AT&T, i tried to unlock it recently but all it kept doing was : Resubmit your request and select No when asked, \"Do you have a mobile number from AT&T?”. Even though I selected No and retried 3 times. What is the fix please? I correctly checked if it's my IMEI and it really is, cant send it here tho.

Do you currently have AT&T service?

Has the phone been used with AT&T those two years?

Your current service, or recently used, was it prepaid or postpaid/wireless?

Do you get any reasons for why unlocking is denied?

No, I don't.

No it wasn't

I don't have a service since my phone is locked and I'm not using AT&T

Yeah, it's saying :

Current status - Denied

We can’t unlock your device because it’s no longer active on an AT&T account. Resubmit your request and select Nowhen asked, "Do you have a mobile number from AT&T?”.

I did select No, so it's confusing.

If it’s telling you to select no, when you’re already selecting no, it means that the website is glitching for you.  If you’re outside of the U.S., try using a U.S. based VPN to access the site.  If that doesn’t work, then something else is wrong, usually it’s that the phone isn’t eligible for unlocking.  Get your money back from the seller through eBay.  Trying to call AT&T and get it unlocked is unlikely to work because you aren’t a customer.

If it is locked to AT&T but hasn't been used within AT&T for 2 years (sitting in a drawer or something?) than likely the IMEI is purged from their system. In that situation even if a VPN gets the request to process, be prepared it may be denied if the system cannot find it. If that happens you'll have to get a new phone.

Either unlock a phone before leaving a provider or purchase from the manufacture where you can get a version not locked to begin with.

I feel like it wasn't purged since it was still recognized as a motorola? So like, yeah, we'll see I guess

Yeah it just said the same thing again

Current status - Denied

We can’t unlock your device because it’s no longer active on an AT&T account. Resubmit your request and select No when asked, \"Do you have a mobile number from AT&T?”.

Get your money back.  The website is still glitching, which likely means it isn’t eligible for unlocking.

Was it sold in the description as an unlocked, or unlockable, phone?

Just saw you bought it 2 years ago.  Probably well past any return period.
