Currently have n alcatel droid running 7.0 possible software update block limit or problem

Currently have n alcatel 5044r running android 7.0, (which does not say Nougot anywhere in the about phone section, is that normal?),which after many tries finally was able to update the build version to yamuamo. While searching the community i see some phones also on att having there software version to 8. Should i be able to move up to version 8 not or is my phone not meant to be upgraded past 7?

That's my main question. One other question if you have a look I'll read it myself but are there any viewable or noticeable changes after upgrading to the higher build version or software version?

Thank you

Master

According to ATT's website (software update section), the current software version for that phone is Android version: 7.0, Baseband version: JO.2.0.c1-00150-8909_GEN_PACK-1 Build number: YAMUAM0. If that's the version you have, then the software is up to date. There hasn't been any announcement on that phone getting 8.0 yet.
