Error: you are using this application outside of workspace

New Samsung 9Edge with work profile set up with specific apps.  When trying to run GBoard, not in my workspace, but under non-work related google account I get the error: "you are using this application outside of workspace".  And yes, I know I am, so what? I do not have any policy set restricting use of the GBoard so why not.  More so, my admin permits use of GBoard in the workspace, so why complain?

I’m sorry to hear you’re having these problems with GBoard!  I know how important it is to make sure everything is functioning properly and I’m more than happy to point you in the right direction.


There is a known issue at this time with work profiles on Knox Workspace not allowing the use of custom keyboards on the phone, saying that it is disabled by the admin.  Samsung is aware of this and is working diligently to provide a fix for it!  You can disable work profile in order to bypass this if it is an option.  


In addition to this, you can reach out directly to Samsung Knox Support in order to report the glitch and request troubleshooting and workarounds.
