LG G4 and LG's lack of quality control

Never buy a LG phone

The recent G4 debacle has shown not only LGs lack of quality control but the way they handled it was horrendous

During manufacturing a hardware defect effected ALL devices

Their answer to the cell carriers was replace it with the same phone which was also defective

LG has shown it is horrible at dealing with issues.

The right course of action would have been to replace customers G4s with another LG phone and phase out the G4

Instead thousands of people have suffered the bootloop several times

myself? 5 bootloops

contacted LG direct, 2 month turn around. Unacceptable.

I had to threaten to cancel to get another phone.

Stay clear of LG.....go samsung, apple, or htc or whatever else

LG has lost a lot of customers over this. Bad business decision on their part. There would be a much different tune over this if they just recalled them. The standup thing to do would have been a product recall and switch them all out for the customers. Shame on ATT for allowing this, they could have negotiated with LG to stop forcing them to warranty replace the G4s with OTHER G4s.

Hey @richbailey86!

I definitely understand your frustration and AT&T appreciates your feedback! We certainly take this type of issues very seriously and don’t like to hear that our customers are having this type of experience.

Through warranty replacement, it does come directly from the manufacturer, in this case, LG. I agree that it would aid our customers in not continuing to receive the same type of phone and I will be forwarding your concerns.

Once again, I do apologize for this issue you and multiple customers are having with the LG G4 device. LG can be reached through phone at 800-793-8896.

If you have any questions for AT&T or myself, please don’t hesitate to reach back out to me through this post! Take care and have a great week!

@ATTKevin

We both know that bolded statement is partially false.  New logistics processes your returns in the 14 day period and then those are referbed by them and used as like new warranty replacements.  You may recieve phones from LG or what ever oem but most of yours are returns.  Newlogistics does not hide the fact they do this.

i understand warranty of LG is through LG

this is not a normal warranty

this is a defective device from manufacturing and they all bootloop. this must be handled differently

it is a known hardware defect. LG told me 2 month turn around.

what i learned was do not buy LG products.

Not to sound bad but what would you do if ATT did not process warranty replacements?  Go buy a cheap phone to have as a backup.  Before long carriers are going to make you deal with the OEM and they are not going to handle any warranty claims.  Samsung is setting up to beable to do this just like apple already does.  I personally think ATT or any carrier for that matter should make the customer deal with the warranty issue themselves.  You have to do it with everyother peice of electronics you buy.

Hey, I'd have no problem with that (going to the OEM for warranty). This issue was so broad that the turn around was almost 2 months according to LG when I called them

Warranties happen. Problems happen. The point thats being missed is that ALL LG G4s bootloop. A manufacturing defect that affects all devices should be handled differently

A recall should have been issued.

I have had phones fail and replaced under warranty. With no complaint from me because things happen and I understand that.

FIVE LG G4s bricking in a row is not "things happen" and happening to thousands of people is not "warranties happen no big deal".....major issue....should be dealt with differently

How many people had a G4 bootloop out of warranty and were totally screwed?

I like the V10 I ended up receiving after 3 bootloops and my wife likes the G5 she got after 2 bootloops. However how can I ever buy a LG product again when this is how they handle issues? Like I said once, twice, FINE.....but 5 times and EVERYONE having the same issue? Bad business by LG and even worse on ATT by not doing more.

@richbailey86

show me a time that a cell phone has been recalled?

On the otherside of the coin look at the s7 active and the mess that samsung and ATT have made with that.

They are basicly telling the customer to dunk the phone in water to see if it fails.  I did it with mine it failed after 4.5 minutes.  Its suppose to be waterproof up to 30 min at 1.5 meters.
