My Kyocera Hydro Air Keeps Freezing

I have a Kyocera Hydro Air and it keeps freezing on me. I always restart it with the power button and the volume and then it works fine until a day or so later or maybe even a couple hours later and it freezes again. Please help 😕

Greetings @AngelicNight22!

The Hydro is an awesome phone! I’m sorry it’s been giving you such trouble that would definitely get annoying quick!

We appreciate that you’ve come to the forums for help! Let’s get started!

The best thing to begin with to get a baseline, is our troubleshooting tool for Display Screen > Sometimes Frozen > Display Lit but Frozen.

This will take you through the most common reasons for your phone to lock up like that, and provide many great solutions.

Feel free to keep us updated on this matter! We want to help however we can!

Hydro Air is a low-end, entry level device. It has 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory.

Too many third party allications and content on the device will slow it down, causing it to freeze and lock up. I'd factory reset.

  1. I only have 3 extra apps downloaded,  have tried a factory reset and it froze up again before I even put apps back on it.

Hi there @Tlamm99!

I’m sorry to hear about the issues with your Kyocera! Do you have to force restart it after it does this?

If you ruled out applications, and software issues (via a factory reset), then the phone may have a hardware problem that is not fixable through traditional troubleshooting.

At that point you would want to contact the manufacturer for a possible repair service, or even possibly replacement options.

My apologies for that, thanks for reaching out though!
