Nexus 6: How do I know if mine is affected by 'recall' ?

Hello,

I pre-ordered a Nexus 6. How do I know if it's affected by the recall issue that I've read about online?

Can anyone confirm that if I can successfully boot the phone and use it normally that it's not affected by this bug? (That is, this bug is characterized by the fact that it can't be booted up properly.)

I want to make sure before I load my accounts, info, contacts, etc. that I'm not risking a potentially bricked phone.

Thanks.

There is no bug.  My ATT n6 is just fine.  If the phone works then there is no bug.  It only affected a small batch of preorders according to the release from motorola.

There is no difference in software each phone. They all are running lrx210.  And should all get the ota from google.  As there is no way to know which phone is sold where.  except by IMEI.

The only att software is on the oem partition of the phone which can be DELETED or I just did a .bak after all the files.  That removes the Att bootscreen and all att ringtones.

Your best bet would be to buy the real Nexus 6 from Google Play store when they get new stock. Buying AT&T version will inevitably lead to frustrations sooner or later.

Yes, thanks for confirming what I figured out anyway. My N6 has been great for the last 48 hrs.

I just wish the original information about the recall had described the symptoms. Seems that if the AT&T N6 can boot up and show the welcome screen, then it's fine.

So far I'm really liking the device.

Cool, good to know. Someone has told me that the bootloader was also locked in the AT&T Nexus so I freaked out 🙂

nope it can be unlocked and takes less than 5 min to unlock root and flash custom recovery.  the one thing google did say is the bootloader will always be unlockable.
