Nexus 6 Marshmallow update ETA?

Hi, I understand the update is being rolled out in stages,  but  can anyone give an approximate ETA for the AT&T specific build of Android 6;0 Marshmallow? (I have already installed the prerequisite October security update, build LMY48W).

Thanks

Hey, everyone!

Here's a little more information about this update rollout.

  • Google will use a slow-roll GOTA campaign that starts with about 5% of the eligible users on day one and ramps up availability to 100% by the end of the fourth day.
  • If you check for the update via settings before your device is eligible for the rolling FOTA campaign, you'll see the message that indicates the device software is currently up to date:
    • You cannot pull the update via Settings.
  • Once eligible and in Wi-Fi coverage, the download takes place automatically and you'll be prompted to install the update.

Upon receipt of the FOTA notification you should:

  1. Ensure the device is sufficiently charged.
  2. Connect to Wi-Fi.
  3. Select Install.

Carriers do not provide ETAs for updates.  All you will get is rumor.

Just sideload the update. It's a nexus for pets sake

That's just it...shouldn't have to sideload or flash. Att needs to expedite their futzing around with it and push it. It's ridiculous. There is no reason we've had to wait so long. And it can't be sideloaded because the OTA file for us isnt out.

sure it can be sideloaded....  There is no special rom just for att customers....  Here is the zip files...  I have been running marshmallow since it was released on googles site.

This is now a moot point since google is not selling nexus devices on carriers ever again...

Sorry to budge in. Would you have to flash down before flashing marshmallow? Or would it take from "w" the current 5.1.1 build

I have two Nexus devices (Nexus 6 on AT&T and Nexus 7 2013 WiFi). Neither device has received the 6.0 OTA. In addition I have three friends with Nexus 6 devices, and nobody has received the OTA to 6.0 as of this posting.

We all know that with Android OS updates we must either wait for the extremely slow OTA update to roll out, or we can flash or side load the update with a little work and effort. However, does anybody else find it ironic that in order to manually update we must own or use a "competitors" product such as a PC or Mac?

Google needs to create some "modern" options that would allow us to easily use a Chromebook, tablet, or even to somehow download the update to Google Drive and remotely execute; at least for Nexus devices.

The Android OS update issue grows more problematic year after year. If you don't own a Nexus device you may never receive an update, and even if you do own Nexus devices you often must wait weeks and even months.

It's almost enough to make you want an Apple. Almost, but not quite.

If you unlock your bootloader to flash, it wipes all user data.  There is not currently an OTA upgrade build available for ATT devices.  OTA builds allow you to upgrade without wiping all user data.  Many users do not want to have to wipe all user data in order to upgrade to marshmallow.  ATT is the ONLY carrier for which a build that can be sideloaded has not been released.  Literally every other carrier, including V******, has allowed an OTA build to be released.  ATT is clearly holding up this process.  WHY???

None of those builds at the droid-life link posted by GLIMMERMAN76 can be sideloaded by ATT customers.  All ATT customers are currently on LMY48W, so if you try to sideload any of the builds at that link, it will NOT WORK.
