Nexus 6 Reboot

I received my Nexus 6, which I had pre-ordered, and it continually reboots itself at least 1 or 2 times per day.    I know this is a known issue with the phones, and I was wondering how this gets fixed?   Do you switch out the phones or will there be a software fix coming?   I am looking for some direction on what needs to happen.

There was a recall of the Nexus 6 phone, there was a problem of the phone, so att delay the sale of Nexus 6 in store until the first quarter of next year, so you might need to switch to a different phone for now as future are not guaranteed.

@bizhui there is no problem with the nexus 6...  you can buy one on ATT.com right now.  The problem with the phone was not releated to his problem.  It was a black screen problem because of a bad software flash motorola did.

no on to the ops problem.  Are you stock and what programs have you loaded?  Have you tried a factory reset?  You could have a program you loaded that does not play nice with lollipop.

I am stock.  I have all the program updates, and these where the same programs that I had loaded on my Nexus 5 with Lollipop.   Too many programs to list them all here.

There definately seems to be a problem with the phone rebooting.   Seems like a software issue with the phone, so hopefully they will fix it quickly.   A phone the reboots 1 or 2 times per day is not acceptable.   I am sure you will agree with that.

I don't know if the problem is a Motorola, Google, or AT&T problem, but I know I bought it from AT&T so I am following the money to get the problem resolved.

Switching to a new phone (unless it is a fixed Nexus 6) seems to not solve the issue.   Other non-AT&T owners of Nexus 6 are not reporting this issue, that I have seen.   Seems like it must be something about the AT&T models.   It is a Nexus phone so not suppose to have different ROM, maybe a different load screen and some ATT programs loaded that can be deleted, but the rest fo the phone should be a Nexus.

I have a nexus 6 and have had no problems since switching to it from my n5 with android L preview.

With that said have you tried a factory reset to see if it fixes it.

Next are you rooted?  custom recovery?

I am not rooted, nor do I plan on rooting my phone.   I am not sure what you mean by custom recovery.

I really do not want to have to reset the phone and wipe it ... I just set it up less than a week ago, and don't feel that I should have to do a factory reset.

support is going to make you do a factory reset before they will send you a replacement.  I rooted and got rid of the god forsaken Att boot image.

After a factory reset it will allow you to do a recovery of your last config and auto download all your apps.  Its a nice new feature of lollipop.

Will try the factory reset option to see what happens .... I know this is going to be a pain in the neck, but if it fixes the problem it will be worth the effort.

After much time of doing a factory reset the phone still resets itself from time to time.
