Not Getting Voicemail Notifications - Unlocked Google Pixel 6 Pro - AT&T Prepaid

I have an unlocked Google Pixel 6 Pro with my AT&T Prepaid SIM card in it. All apps and android system are up to date, as of today. In the past couple of weeks I realized I wasn't getting voicemail notifications until I turned my phone off overnight, and then turned it back on in the morning. So if I notice a missed call, I have to restart my phone to see if I got a voicemail. I cannot turn on voicemail - or phone - notifications (screenshots attached). It's darkened and I can't toggle it. Neither airplane mode nor DND mode are on. This problem happens when on carrier service, and at home on WIFI. There's no longer a voicemail tab at the bottom of my Phone app. I have to dial 1 to go to voicemail. I also saved the voicemail phone number in my contacts to get to it that way. I thought maybe visual voicemail was the problem, so I turned it off. Had someone test call me and I got a notification right after they left a voicemail, but now today it won't even give me notification without visual voicemail on. I tried fixing notifications when I'm dialed into voicemail, when you select "4" in main menu, but it doesn't say an option for notifications, and when I put "1" as suggested on other ATT help topics, it says "incorrect key."

I feel like I can't find this specific topic anywhere online for my specific phone model, and when I try everything else I've read for other phones/carriers, it doesn't help either. Hoping someone can help. I found this problem last week when I didn't know I had a voicemail about a job interview until the next day. I could've easily missed out on the opportunity because of this!!!

I had to text the helpline because the calls kept getting dropped. It was a technical issue with my account, and the rep fixed it on their end.

Hello @mah,

Thank you for reaching out to us. We understand your concern regarding Voicemail Notifications, let's get the help you need.

We do understand how important it is to receive voicemail notifications. You can manage your voicemail notification alerts. Learn how to turn this alert on and off.

To call the voicemail system to turn your notification alerts on and off:

  1. Press and hold 1 from your AT&T wireless phone. If you have AT&T Wireless Home Phone, dial 1 from your connected home phone.
  2. Enter your voicemail password, if prompted.
  3. If you have new messages, press the * key to skip to the Main Menu.
  4. In the Main Menu, press 4 for Personal Options.
  5. Press 1 to turn Voicemail Notifications On or Off.

If you have a smartphone with the AT&T Visual Voicemail app, to manage your notification alerts:

  1. Tap the AT&T Visual Voicemail app
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Notifications to turn alerts on or off.

You may visit our Wireless Support page for troubleshooting tips. You may sign in for personalized help.

Also, you can check to see if your notifications are on in your iPhone settings. Go to Settings > select Notifications > change the setting for the desired app > toggle on the Allow Notification.

Also, to confirm, are you able to hear and access the voicemail but just not getting the notification? This will help us determine if there is possibly an error with your voicemail or device.

Try this and let us know how it goes! Please feel free to reach us if you have any other questions.

If you'd read my post, pressing 1 in the menu doesn't work. It's not an option, and it tells me "incorrect key." I don't have the visual voicemail app. I don't have an iPhone, and I can't turn notifications on for phone app or voicemail. It won't let me toggle the option to turn it on.

I can go to the voicemail and hear it, but I'm not getting a notification until I turn my phone off and back on.
