Not receiving calls or texts on Android phone

Suddenly I'm not receiving calls or messages on my Pixel 7 Pro. I've had the phone for over a year with no problem like this. This is the fourth time in month that this has happened. I don't realize there's an issue until someone contacts me elsewhere to ask why I'm not responding...which is defeating the purpose of the phone. The connectivity is fine, I've toggled Airplane mode, I've tried turning Wi-Fi off and just using data, I've tried just using Wi-Fi, I've restarted the phone, I've checked for all updates. I'm at a loss. I need my phone to work! Please help!

It's pixel not att. It's happening to a lot of people on all carriers.

Hey there @scoutfinch15,

Thank you for reaching out to us. Let's help with your issue of not able to make or receive calls.

A common issue is that some or all LTE service may be toggled to off within the device settings inadvertently. This can cause both voice and data issues depending on the device.

To Resolve:

First: Determine if the device is "HD Voice-capable" (a.k.a "Volte" or "Voice over LTE")

  • If no, you will need an HD Voice-capable device
  • If yes, but not AT&T branded, please visit: https://www.att.com/support/article/wireless/KM1070617/

Second: For those experiencing loss of Voice and/or Data service, check the following settings and then power cycle the device.

Android:

  • Go to Settings>Connection>Mobile networks>Enhanced LTE services and select on.

Once complete, please ensure you power your phone off and back on to establish a fresh connection with the network.

Let us know if this helps.

Thank you for visiting the AT&T Community Forums.

These did not help. I am unable to receive both calls and texts, intermittently. Everything in my settings is as it should be regarding data.

Same thing happened to me on my Pixel last week. I wasn't receiving calls and texts intermittently for days. I called ATT and they reset my network and ally texts started coming through. But it's only worked for a few days. I'm not receiving messages again starting yesterday.

My phone's been doing the same thing for weeks. I called ATT and the lady I spoke with told me the signal was bouncing towers. She said it was a known issue and it was being worked on. Even gave me $20 off of my bill.. She said to restart my phone periodically ... I'm restarting over a dozen times a day...Well it's still not working properly weeks later.. I have been with ATT for a very long time... Sad to say this but  I'm going to have to change providers... I shouldn't be receiving texts from my children DAYS after they sent it.. They can even call me half the time. Also side note.. service has gone to crap and they just raised the bill a dollar a line...

I have a pixel 7A and I can not receive phone calls and text messages too.  I've tried everything above and it will still not work.  I have missed so many phone calls and text messages, this is very very frustrating

I am having the identical issues of everyone mentioned in the group.  It is incredibly frustrating as I am missing important work texts.  It will work for a moment and then suddenly it goes radio silent, and I am getting nothing.  Then, later that night or the next day, I suddenly get a DUMP of about 15-20 text messages.

I also called AT & T who performed a network reset for me as well.  However, it only worked for about a day.  This is so entirely frustrating as my phone worked for the first 10 months, but over the past month I am having so many problems with this phone.  There is comfort in knowing it is not just me or something that I did "wrong," but rather it sounds to be a ubiquitous problem that AT & T needs to get straightened out.

Was this associated with the latest Google Update on March 5?  Is AT & T somehow no longer compatible?  What is going on??  Can someone please help!

I have had the same issue on and off since March 25. I will randomly not receive SMS messages for hours at a time, sometimes they will all come in at once hours later or not at all. I have refreshed my connection on att.com which fixes the issue temporarily, but it isn't helpful when I have no indication that something is wrong until I get a WhatsApp or DM from someone who has been trying to reach me for hours. Google support refused to accept that it was a Pixel problem, and AT&T isn't convinced it is a network problem since my data is working for the Internet/other apps.

I went to the AT&T store 3 days ago for support and they removed a piece of code they believed to be affecting the Messages app and were confident it would be a permanent fix, only to have the problem happen again yesterday AND today. This is the only online thread I've found where it is happening to others and I'm glad it's not just me!
