Not receiving text messages, calls or voicemails when my phone is off

I've had confirmed that I'm not receiving texts or voicemails when my phone is turned off. AT&T's chat service won't load. Guess I have to blast them here!

In the past, when I turned on my phone any texts or voicemails I received while my phone was off would pop up, but apparently that's not included with my monthly plan any more.

Hey @CiSullivan,

We understand the importance of receiving those messages and voicemails, and let's get the help you need.

The below steps can help you to receiving the messages and voicemails.

  1.  Software Updates: Make sure your phone’s software is up to date. Check for any available updates through your device settings.
  2. Call Forwarding: Turn off call forwarding if it’s enabled. You can do this by dialing #21# on your phone and then pressing the Call or Send key
  3. Network reset:
    1. If you're using iOS, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
    2. On Android, go to Settings > System > Advanced > Reset options > Reset network settings.
  4. Voicemail reset:
    1. Make sure you’re in an AT&T wireless coverage area.
    2. Log in to your myAT&T account and go to the “My wireless” section.
    3. Scroll down to “My devices & add-ons” and select the device you want to manage.
    4. Click on “Manage my device.”
    5. Under “Device options & settings,” choose “Reset voicemail password” and follow the prompts

Hope this helps! Feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.

None of this worked. Eventually AT&T remotely connected to my cell phone and fixed it. They never told me what occurred or how to stop it from happening again.

What a hilariously tone deaf and unproductive response

lol leave it to AT&THelp with their bot replies… I honestly have no idea why that happened but just sleep soundly knowing that tech support can fix it again if it happens :) if/when they fix it again ask them what they did!

I would've asked, but it was fixed through their automated service online. It just said "We've encountered an issue." with no further information on the cause of the issue.
