Phone purchase through Walmart

Signed up for 2 lines ATT and signed up for 2 phones.

Service where we lived was horrible..Went to another Cell provider

Wanted to use phones we got from Walmart for Att.

Phones were locked from other carriers to use on their network.

Paid off both phones which should unlock them both

Now they say I have to wait 60 days for unlock.

Trying to take phones back and get my money back.

Went to ATT store. said go to Wal Mart...Walmart says go to Att where we paid phones.

We are ready to go to Corporate ATT as well as the State Attorney Generals Office in NC and

Go to SEC and lodge a complaint!!!!

Really Mad,,,,

I WILL HAVE MY DAY WITH THESE CORPORATE LOSERS,,

Where did you buy the phones?  You would take them back there.

How long ago did you buy the phones?  More than 14 days?  You're stuck with them.

If you're stuck with them and want to use them, then you have to keep them active on AT&T for at least 60 days before AT&T will unlock them.  You agreed to all this when you bought them.

AT&T sells service. Phones are a means to that. They are not going to sell you a phone to immediately take it to another provider. Whether you have phone on installment plan or paid in full at purchase, they work similar.

https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/

  • Paid through your monthly bill: Submit your unlock request at the start of your next bill period.
  • Paid off early: The wireless number assigned to the device must be active for at least 60 days. Wait 48 hours after you make your final payment to submit your unlock request.
  • Was paid in full when you bought it (it was not purchased on an installment plan). You must wait 60 days from your purchase date to submit an unlock request.

You can return phones within 14 days as buyers remorse instead. Still pay for that month of service (no proration) but you can get money back on the phones (minus restocking fee). Don't forget to call to complete cancel. That is the time you get to verify if service will work for your or not. After that then you use their service for at least 60 days.
