Razr 40+ (xt2321-1) prepaid SIM no text receive

Are you saying you're using an AT&T branded phone with an AT&T SIM card and it's not working? 

Does it say SIM not supported when you try to put a non AT&T SIM card into it? AT&T phones are locked until you unlock them. Sim not supported with indicate the phone is carrier locked

Okay you need to clarify what the problem is.

Are you trying to use Vodafone SIM &  service and it won't work?

Or are you trying to use your AT&T prepaid service (which cost extra in Germany).  In order to use AT&T prepaid service in Germany you have to add the $35 prepaid add-on.  

Since Germany is a covered country you can log into your AT&T prepaid account.  If you have already added the $35 add-on you have to make sure that data roaming is on

i try to use the at&t prepaid SIM at my Razr 40+ in Germany but i can't receive any text.

but if i put the SIM into my Xperia 5 IV i receive text messages from U.S. to my at&t number here in Germany.

simple question why it's working with my Xperia but not with the Razr now.?

My guess is support Sony has better support on att than unlocked MOTO phones.  It also could be something with the provider your roaming on.

And you have paid for and are using the $35 prepaid add-on?   

Wi-Fi texting & calling works in Germany to send and receive text messages without paying for a roaming plan.

Cellular does not

i just need to receive text messages that was working at my Xperia without any extra payment (with any add-on) to my prepaid plan....its still working if i put the SIM into my Sony device.

But I'd like to use just 1 phone so I'm trying to figure out why i don't receive textings while using theRazr 40 + now.!

Okay just to explain again if you're on AT&T prepaid, and in Germany, *not* paying for the roaming plan,  The only way you can receive a text message is when you are using Wi-Fi calling & texting.   

Wi-Fi call & text should work on an AT&T branded phone and some unlocked phones.  I don't believe any Sony phones are capable of Wi-Fi calling on AT&T.  Unlikely the moto is Wi-Fi call capable either.  

   If either of them were Wi-Fi calling capable it would have had to have been set up in the United States, you can't set it up outside of the United States.

Since neither of those phones were purchased or AT&T branded you are on your own to use whatever method works. This is not AT&T's problem to solve

i don't care about wifi calling i just want to receive text messages with my Razr 40+ like it does with that SIM in my Xperia.

and btw. i used the Razr in U.S. with the at&t SIM already so it should be set up
