Samsung connection issues
So upgraded my Samsung s22 ultra that was having issues connecting with the at&t network after trying everything short of editing root files, this includes getting new sim. i thought well phones old ish and has been dropped a few times so maybe its the hardware. Got the s24 ultra and it hasn't even been 7 days since I have left the store with it that... guess what the same thing started. Since I've got it there has been no drops, no water exposure, no overheating. Why am i paying for a mobile device that i can only use on Wi-Fi networks. Then I dig deeper on forums here and other places and see that this is a know issue that they are doing nothing to resolve. I'm not sure if its the fact that the the software build that they say is up to date on there website is outdated by a month cause the build they have posted is for may1st update even though the June update has already been pushed to the device. Just seems like they don't care and are doing nothing to resolve this issue, only fix i see is unlock phone and transfer to a different provider.

But if the problem is with the phone itself, how do you know that the phone will work differently on other providers?

@this_service_provider_sucks I could be wrong, but i read somewhere that it is actually phone issue. Some people said that they had to change internal antenna (?) for around $40.

There are lots of reports with the S22 upgrades. The fix, for some, is the antenna replacement mentioned. This is a Samsung problem, hardware/upgrade, not AT&T's. AT&T just pushes out what Samsung gives them.

soo your saying a 7 day old s24 that functioned fine for 5 days has an issue with antenna that had no way of being damaged right?

From what has been reported, the antenna can become faulty due to a poor design/install or the recent update borks it. It's always so much easier to blame the provider, whether it actually is their problem or not, than to think that one's shiny new Android device could be the culprit. It happens from time to time with all phone mfrs.

I've been using an S24+ since the end of January. Got all the updates, including the One UI 6.1 update that loaded up the day I got it, all the way up to the latest security patch that installed last Monday (June 10).
No problems here.
The problems with the messed up antenna was with the S22 line. I have not heard of any such issues affecting the S24s.
The only complaints I've seen were the "vivid" setting not having any affect (supposedly fixed, but I never used "vivid" so I wouldn't know), and the camera blurring fast moving objects without adjusting accordingly.

If it's a brand new s24, you are still within warranty. If you've had it less than 14 days, you are still within the return window. And since the device is defective, take advantage, and insist on an exchange *without restock fee* for a defective device
I have heard of fewer problems with the s23 and the s24 lines, but in the end Samsung has been using cheaper hardware, And I suspect cheaper labor , in order to keep the price down.
If you have any further problems within the first year, I would recommend that you exchange via warranty directly with Samsung. It's inconvenient, but Samsung needs to be held accountable for their crappy hardware.

Too many people I've known to have problems with Samsungs. I tried them once with the Note 2 and it was ok, but in the long run too delicate for my use.
With the increase in issues from software and hardware in the last couple years or so, It does sound like quality has been dropping. Not sure if it started during the pandemic or before, but it sounds like the time frames are close.
