Samsung Galaxy S8 stuck on Android version 7.0 (Nougat), won't update

SM-G950U. Everywhere I look online, it says 8.0 Oreo is out for my phone, but the settings say it's up to date at 7.0. There's plenty of storage left. Knox isn't tripped. Bought the phone in an ATT store. My fiance has the S8+ and just updated it to 9 Pie today. What can I do?

Do you have an att sim card installed? An Alternate method is to install Samsung Smart Switch on your Mac or PC and let it check for updates, backup data, load updates, etc.

you do realize that ATT does not allow Samsung to use smartswitch to update ATT branded phones right?

You have to have a ACTIVE att sim card and be connect to ATT towers to get updates.  It basically boils down to ATT only updates Active customer phones and this is android only.

@GLIMMERMAN76 Didn't know smart switch doesn't work for attending branded updates. Could have sworn my note 4 or s7 active had an update via smart switch but maybe was the T-Mobile s5 or the Verizon s6edge. @DeadByFriday - @GLIMMERMAN76 is definitely correct that the updates require an active attached sim in the phone. If you pop in your fiance's sim card in your phone for a few hours you may get the updates... But it may take longer and your fiance won't get messages or calls during this time.
