Stop automatic updates!

I'm tired of these updates that disables my phone for 10-15 mins, when I work or use GPS! There's no option to disable it! I have 9 devices with att! I'm so frustrated that I'm ready to give it up and stop paying! We as costumers should have right to choose! I can't afford to loose business while my phone updates! This is rediculous! Att has to do something about it! I SHOULD HAVE A RIGHT TO REFUSE UPDATE ON THE DEVICE I'M PAYING FOR!!!

You have 3 times to say no after that it auto installs and that is any Samsung phone unlocked from Samsung or not .  Switch to apple if you want more freedom.

Which devices does this happen on?  On my Samsungs, it tells me an update is ready, but I can always tap "Later", then initiate the update later when I'm home.

Not sure why you can't just do that.

Switch to apple if you want more freedom.

Now there's an ironic phrase if ever I read one.

You are given three opportunities to decline the installation; beyond that, it will auto-install. This applies to any Samsung phone, whether it's directly from Samsung or not. If you seek greater freedom, you might consider switching to Apple.

Hi @exadad357603, we understand your concern. We’re here to help you.

The following steps will help you access and manage the automatic updates feature:

  • Go to the Home screen then tap the Play Store app.
  • Tap the Menu icon on the upper-left side of the Play Store app screen.
  • Scroll down and tap on settings.
  • Tap Auto-update apps to continue.
  • To auto-update apps via any network, tap to select Over any network. Otherwise, select Over Wi-Fi only, if you’d like to auto-updates via Wi-Fi internet.
  • If you don’t want to auto-update apps, select Don’t auto-update apps from the given options then tap Done to confirm.

Thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forums!

You know that I wasn't talking about apps! That's obvious! I made  it a(Edited per community guidelines)olutely clear that it's the system update that's really bothering me and you're continuing with this (Edited per community guidelines) about app updates! Att a(Edited per community guidelines)olutely doesn't care about the costumers!

Yeah the forced system updates need to stop. I will update when I get good God **** ready to do it. Stop forcing me to auto update. I decline 3 times and then it tells me in 10 seconds your phone will update, which takes forever, and it always happens when I'm right in the middle of something and can't afford to be without my phone. ******** stop this **** ****** now.

Acquire a phone that is no longer receiving current updates.  Problem solved.  Or acquire a phone from a manufacturer that writes their software perfectly the first time.

It's not the carrier that's requiring these updates...
