Texts take a long time to send.

Texts take a long time to send, sometimes over 2 minutes, and I don't get all texts on time, sometimes an hour after they were sent to me.

Factory reset the device and see how it behaves before you install any other software on the device.

If you can make and receive calls then the ability to send/rec SMS is there, it's something on the device causing delay in receipt or transmission.

Hello @MarkEG,

I understand how concerning it is having the phone take a long time to send a text message. It will be my pleasure to help!

@David606 recommended a fantastic troubleshooting step you can try! Another thing you can do is refresh the phone’s connection to our network.  You can do this by first powering off the phone completely; remove the SIM card, clean golden contacts, re-insert into the device, power back on and then test.

You can get the steps to remove the SIM card at our Device Support Page! After choosing your phone’s make and model, please go to Tutorials > About Your Device > Phone Assembly/Insert SIM.

I also recommend visiting our Troubleshoot and Resolve Tool. This is a fantastic resource which gives personalized troubleshooting steps which helps pinpoint what the issue is and how to resolve it. After selecting your phone’s make and model, please go to Service/Network > Messaging.

I hope these steps help! Have a fabulous day!

Same issues my text take too long to send and  receiving sometimes don't come through along with my phone calls. Voicemail is glitchy also.I switched to AT&T because of first responder discount, I was 25 years with Verizon. Verizon never had issues with calls or texts sending and receiving. I got a brand new phone from AT&T Samsung s24 Ultra and I have missed calls notification and  phone never rings. Ill be on my phone (google) and get missed call notification.  (Edited per community guidelines)??  There is also many othet glitches with this phone. I think Samsung and AT&T are not compatible. I would rather pay double and go back to Verizon to get the calls that I need to come through along with my texts they sold me on the first responder being that it's a special program and never missed calls it's been a nightmare. Everything is not worth the discount and hassle. I would of never switched from Verizon.  Now I'm stuck with this plan with new phone contact.
