Unlock Pixel 7a

I bought a brand new AT&T Pixel 7a from Walmart. Paid in full. I am currently not an AT&T customer.

I tried the online unlock at https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/ and got an email response they are "We're missing some info". What info? I gave the IMEI and my contact info.

Can someone help me with this unlock?

@chitowne  Just an FYI but the AT&T kiosks in places like Walmart are not owned or operated by AT&T and they are not staffed with AT&T employees. AT&T has no control over how they conduct business in what they tell, or don't tell to customers in order to make a sale. If the phone was locked to AT&T I believe you have to use it for at least 30 days on AT&T for post paid and 6 months if pre paid. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Have you used the phone on the AT&T network?  If so, for how long?

If you never used the phone on AT&T, then the IMEI likely isn’t in the unlocking database.

You have to use it for 60 days to get it unlocked.

@GLIMMERMAN76 It has to be used 60 days on AT&T's network? Does it matter if prepaid vs. postpaid?

@GLIMMERMAN76  Thanks for the correction on it being 60 days and not 30 days for postpaid.

I appreciate the responses, but no one has answered my 1st question. If someone can answer that, I can mark their response as accepted.

The email I received when submitting the unlock request said,

"Heads up! We can't complete your unlock request right now.", "We're missing some info".

What info are they missing? None of the answers thus far answer that.

@chitowne  If you're not an AT&T customer then answer No at the question. If you did, and still get the same vague response, then you need to use the phone on AT&T for 60 days postpaid or 6 months prepaid. Apparently you purchased a phone at Walmart that is locked to AT&T and there is no way around that. That should have been explained to you when you purchased the phone from the Retail vendor or it was in the TOS that you should have read, or looked it up on AT&T's website. AT&T will only honor what is listed on their website regardless of what you were told, or not told by the Retail vendor. Remember, you did business with the Walmart vendor, not AT&T.

@chitowne They are probably missing the info in their system showing that it has been used for 6 months on ATT prepaid.

You said you bought it.  And that you are not an ATT customer.   But were you an ATT customer for at least 6 months?  If not, you didn't meet the requirements and it won't be unlocked.
