Blocking - Blocked Callers
Problem: I am trying to block someone, but they somehow manage to still contact me.
I would always block and unblock some people on my contact list. I have the iMessage feature turned on and the other person as well. I’ve noticed that when I block someone, the iMessage feature (it shows blue text) turns to green (basic SMS). Few days ago, I’ve blocked one of the people on my contacts and they somehow manage to text and call me. I unblocked and block just to check, and I’ve also used my siblings phone to try if it’s just a bug, but the blocking feature stopped working for me.
I have the iPhone 8+

I see you would like to block a number from your device. It’s good to block any unwanted calls and text!. We can discuss some options available for you.
When it comes to blocking a number, you can check out our great feature called AT&T SmartLimits. You are able to contact the AT&T Annoyance Call Bureau (ACB) which offers self-service options to help control Annoyance.
You can block unwanted wireless calls and messages or block caller ID. It does sound like you have attempted the block calls in your phone. To make sure no steps were accidentally skipped, you can click here for device support on how to do this. Just do a search for block calls.
There are some additional things you can do for the prevention of unwanted calls. This link will help with call security for inbound calls as well as this one. You can review our AT&T Call Protect app article for details and information to control nuisance calls.
