Buy at Apple with NEXT Plan

I'm not sure if Apple/AT&T have resolved thei issue which was not allowing in-store pickup for orders using AT&T NEXT.  I know during the pre-order time, you could only choose to have your new iPhone shipped to you from Apple if you used NEXT, but this may have changed since then.

Did you order the phone online and pickup at the store or you went to the store and bought it there?

I currently have a pending order with AT&T and when I tried ordering at Apple, it told me that they cannot process the order. Probably because I have a pending order with AT&T and i wanna be sure i could get my phone tomorrow before I cancel my order with AT&T and lose my place in line.

Thank you! I'm chatting with AT&T rep right now and she seemed to know what she's talking about. Hopefully she could tell me if this issue has been resolved.

So I gave it a shot, cancelled my order with AT&T and ordered my phone online at the Apple website, even after the AT&T rep told me that I can only go to the store for an exchange. And you're right, Apple does not give the option for store pickup with the NEXT upgrade, only home delivery. And you cannot cancel the order yet. It said that "you may be able to cancel once the order has started processing".

My estimated shipping now is 10/29-11/5 which is a little closer than AT&T which was 10/31-11/9.

I will check my order status tomorrow and check if the store still have the phone In Stock, then i will cancel my order, if possible, and drive to the store immediately after. And will cross my fingers the whole time that nobody would beat me to it.

I went to the store and was able to do the next plan and got my phone right on the spot.  I didn't have to order online to do that.  The main issue is people going from one next plan to another next plan. They aren't able to do that, unless you pay off your device (which you can also do at the Apple store).
