Greeting on iPhone 7+

I can’t set up my mailbox. I have set up a greeting via phone app “voicemail”. I’ve also pressed and held the 1 on my phone keypad. Neither worked. I then changed my phone to cellular only - no WiFi. My friends still say all they get is a message that I have not set up a mailbox yet. I’ve had an iPhone for many years and this just started about a month ago.

I have had ATT wireless since 2001 and have never had this problem.

Greetings @Jfulcher!

We like to look into this for you. However, we need more info on your experience.

  • Have you ever had Voicemail set up on this device or another account?
  • Were you able to complete every instruction when setting up your new Voicemail and password?
  • When pressing the 1 key do you receive a message informing you that Voicemail isn't yet set up?

Looking forward to your reply.

Thank you, yes I've always had voicemail until about two months ago. When I press one on the keypad it doesn't say anything except to enter my password. Sometimes it says I'm already sign in? Yes, I was able to follow and complete every direction. Then play the greeting back. I finally just selected the default greeting with my name.

I have "Robo call" that blocks unwanted calls from other than my contact list. I've had it for over a year. I'm wondering if that is now interfering.

I need to talk with tech support. One morning about three to four weeks ago, my husbands phone wouldn't connect to WiFi and asked for the key. When I entered the key we had originally it wouldn't accept it. I finally had to enter the key I had for my iPad which I haven't used in a year. Then I had to change all my devices and it really messed up my wireless printer; it even changed my IP address for my printer.

I am so frustrated, I've had computers since 1995 for my business and personal use and all of a sudden I'm having problems. My messenger was hacked. My SBC global.net account was hacked. I've had to change passwords constantly.

I sure will appreciate your help!
