How do I get an iPhone 6 removed from a blacklist

I recently bought a iPhone 6 and cked the imei and used the iCloud activation lock ck and everything was good. The phone is under my iCloud account and everything but A few days later it's now blacklisted. Is there anything that I can do about this??

Error We're sorry, but this device is blocked from network use. Please contact your wireless service provider.

Meaning - The device has been suspended due to being reported lost or stolen or is being blocked to prevents fraudsters from activating and using a stolen device.

 

Reactivate wireless service online

If you are the account holder, you can log into your account to restore wireless service. 

  1. Go to Account & services > My wireless.
  2. Scroll and select the device you want to unsuspend.
  3. If prompted, select See device options.
  4. Next to the suspended device, select Reactivate.
  5. Follow the prompts to reactivate service on your device.

Things To Know:

  • Only the account holder can request to remove the device from being blocked. If you are not the account holder or the original owner of the device, AT&T cannot process the request to unblock. We recommend contacting the seller. If you are the owner, chat with us.
  • Request to remove the device from being blocked can only be initiated with the carrier that blocked the device.
  • Removing from the blocked list may take up to 30 minutes for the device to be unblocked on the AT&T Network and up to 24 hours for other carriers.
  • If also restoring service from suspend, if the customer plans to use the blocked device, the device must be removed from the blocked list first.
  • If the suspended AT&T PREPAID device is also blocked, the person whose name is on the bill needs to contact us to remove the block.
  • Only the carrier that originally added the stolen device can authorize its removal from the shared Blacklist database for network blocking.

If you have the proof of purchase from the store then call customer service ask for stolen device team.

I'm guessing you bought it used (why else check the IMEI for a brand new phone?). If that's the case, the original owner has reported it lost or stolen after you did the check and ONLY they can get it off the blacklist. Hopefully you have contact info for the seller and they cooperate.

Yeah, I suspect you got ripped off.  

Only the person who blacklisted the phone can remove it.

If purchased on eBay or swappa you have recourse to get your money back.  Contact their Help services.

If you bought it off person on street, Good Luck.  The phone may not be paid off is why carrier put it on Black List also, along with reported stolen

Hello I’m writing because I’ve  purchased an iPhone 7 Plus off of Craigslist and I’m just finding out it’s blacklisted is there anything I can do to get it off of the phone?

@sotired2 Read the above replies.  Only the person who reported the phone lost or stolen can remove the phone from the blacklist.
