iPad Pro 9.7 Shipping Yet?

Hey there,

 

This is the first time I've preordered an Apple product from AT&T and am a little worried as I've been an observer before.

 

I preordered the 128GB iPad Pro 9.7 within 2 minutes of the preorder going up, and my "Expected Shipping Date" is 3/30/16 (today). However, it's now after 6pm Eastern and it hasn't shipped.

 

Has anyone else seen theirs ship, or is anyone else in the same boat?

Same boat. I ordered the Rose Gold 128GB 3/26 9:20AM EST. I called this afternoon and was told it would ship today (3/30). It is not 10:49PM EST and my status says "Preparing to Ship". When I started grilling her about the Express Shipping (overnight delivery) she stated it is 1-3 days processing. Corrected her and said my order went through that stage, hint the current status.

She looked into it and blah blah blah "backorder" but then said no because it's ready to ship just need a tracking number. After several minutes of grilling her again, she stated that the system sometimes does NOT update order statuses. She told me that when it does ship I may not receive an email or tracking number for the shipment. She also stated it may stay in the current status. I decided to leave it there because the conversation began to upset me.

I think we just have to wait it out.

Back ordered. No estimated in-stock or shipping date. I might cancel due to the blatant lies.

UPDATE. 3/31 1:30AM EST

Shipped by FedEx!!! I contacted customer care through chat and spoke with The Amazing and Great Austin. We chatted for an hour and he looked into everything he could do. However, he said he couldn't see anything on his side as to why it was back ordered to April 29.

He offered me a free Samsung and LG tablet on 2 year contract due to seeing in the notes 5 reps gave me false info. After an hour of being upset I decided to just wing out the month wait. Moments after I ended the chat I received a text that my order had been shipped. I have no idea what Austin did but I am stoked. Maybe it was a glitch or something. Not sure. I thanked him for about 3 minutes for helping me and keeping his calm with me. Great rep. Hard to find someone that can tolerate an upset customer for an hour. I wish I could contact him and let him know everything worked out.

That sucks.

Mine finally shipped a couple hours ago. Don't understand how AT&T is so terrible at this. Simple math isn't it?

 

Although maybe Apple isn't setting proper expectations of how many units the carriers will receive.

I got my tracking number around 8:30 last night, it had a delivery date for today, but because of a delay, the delivery date is gone and it just left Memphis.

Yep. I worked in CS for 4 years in an enviroment like this, and sometimes it's hard to seperate the individuals from the company's overall bad customer service. Glad Austin helped you out!

Hey tangela,

 

I checked mine this morning after reading your comment and saw the same thing. You might check again. FedEx tends to take several hours to show the latest update. FedEx just posted an update on my shipment that actually happened 4 hours ago, and it's now showing that it arrived in my city at 6:36am.

 

It probably got on the truck this morning, and yours may have as well.

Although it shipped I have an EDD of 4/1 by 10:30AM EST and not today. It shows on FedEx as label being created. There's an alert on FedEx website about weather issues in Memphis disrupted commitment deliveries for 3/31 across the nation. It also shows my package was shipped 3/31 and not 3/30 like 5 reps told me. What's one day? Gives me time to find a much cheaper a Smart Cover, silicone case, screen protector. Any ideas on where to maybe get them as a discounted package? I just don't want to drop a $150 right now
