iPhone 6 Plus Backordered

Hello All,

 

This has been the most frustrating experience with AT&T. I ordered a 64GB iPhone 6 plus on 9/21 and was given a shipment window of 10/29-11/7. As of today 11/11 there has been no contact from AT&T. I unfortunately had to file a BBB report. AT&T did respond but with no help or solution.

I am wondering if I am the only one in this boat, or if anyone else has had a similar experience.

  I too am experiencing the exact same issue, from the exact approximate ordering date's, and ATT is continuing to coomunicate this issue as an everyday issue that is of no great major concern when it comes to taking a more aggressive approach in meeting their ordering, and shipping request as indicated by the dates of placing the order's. 

 

   I have spoken with several individuals, and to no avail all have an attitude of it's not their problem, but they are sorry it has happened. I don't need an individual to tell me I'm sorry... I need to be able to find out why my order isn't in my possession at this time, and why, and how it is going to be handled when it comes to making it happen, and how soon??? 

 

   I now feel that If this is what I will have to go through to get an order from ATT online  services, I will not be ordering from ATT again. 

 

   " Enough Said, Your System Is Broken... Fix It " Business is Business... there are No excuses for this kind of service in this world of technology today ! ! !

I actually ordered mine on 9/23 and was given an estimate of getting my phone on the range of 10/31-11/11.  I ordered the iPhone 6+ 64GB Silver/Grey via an AT&T store and would have it ship right from factory to my house rather than pickup at store.  I received no coorespondence from them and the status was always on "Preparing to ship", and today I just so happened to check my status only to see "Backordered" and "Pending Shipment".  I called them and was given a number that she said was the inventory control only to get into a conversation with a guy in the E-Commerce department (what a joke).  I asked about what was going on and he said I would have to talk to the store about my phone (how can a store not have as much info as customer service?).  He then proceeded to keep apologizing and kept telling me how I can check my status on the MyAT&T app on my iPhone, and I told him "I already have the app, and there are a million ways to check my status, I just want to know why you can't fullfill a window of the shipment date you originally gave me?"

 

He obviously had no response....  I use to work for AT&T (corporate store) and this was never a problem.  This company has become a joke.

I ordered iPhone 6+ 64GB Silver/Grey on 9/23 as well and had the window 10/31-11/11 and now it says backordered and I have no idea when it will finally arrive. When I ordered it I was so excited that I had an iPhone hard-on for weeks. I just walked around with it swingin in the air in joyful anticipataion, now my iPhone excitement is flacid. Nothing. I am so let down. When will it ever arrive?!? I should have gotten a Galaxy Note or something...

I ordered my iPhone 6 plus 64gb space grey in store 9/22.  Was given shipping dates of 10/30-11/10.  I anxiously waited and waited, and yesterday (11/10) the last day of the shipping period, the order status changed to backordered.  I called at&t and canceled my order.  I found my phone in stock at Target today.  I went there to buy it and I couldn't because I have to wait 48-72 hours for the upgrade to come back to my account! So frustrating! I've been waiting since September for this phone.  Now I could have gotten it tonight- but there is an upgrade hold on my account! Sooo frustrating!

The same thing is happening to me with the Note 4. It's on backorder. I hate the lies. I've now learned that AT&T sales is notorious for nefarious sales tactics. They promise you a ship date on your phone, knowing full-well that the phone is on backorder and you won't receive it for weeks and months. I just want to be treated honestly. If i'm not going to get the phone until mid to late December when I ordered it in October... TELL ME THAT when I purchase it and sign a contract! These people and this company remind me of the mob or a snake oil salesmen. It's sad to see how low a once honorable company can go!

SAME EXACT THING.  Ordered 9/21 got expected date of 10/29-11/7.  On 10/29 my status changed from processing to preparing to ship.  Just for confirmation I called ATT twice that week and 2 agents both told me that MY PHONE WAS IN STOCK and mine was just awaiting a tracking number, they had up until 11/7 to get it.  At close of business 11/7, my status changed from preparing to ship to back-ordered.  When I asked them what happened to my phone, no one had an answer, and they submitted a ticket in which a supervisor was supposed to get back to me within 48 hours.  That was monday, its been over 48 hours and I still haven't received a phone call.  I've been with ATT for 13 years and have ordered every iphone since the original through them, and this is the worst handling of an order I've ever dealt with.  I understand the supply and demand for the phone, but the customer service, lack of communication, and just sheer poor management of how this has been handled is unacceptable.

Same situation ordered the iPhone 6 Plus 128 gb on 9/21/2014, supposed to ship 11/7 the latest., (nope).

 

Called customer service, poor kid having to take the heat for something obviously middle management allowed to slip through the cracks.

It would be better business practice for AT&T to remove the "buy now" button on their home page to "Order now for Christmas, maybe..."

My sense this was an AT&T oversight to expect Apple to fulfill online orders. Perhaps it is Apple themselves who failed to comply? It's anyone's best guess at this point.

Maybe someday I'll have a product that everybody wants and I can't fill orders fast enough. 🙂

 

Oh well what can you do, I've waited this long. Perhaps it will be worth the wait, might make Christmas a little more special with an iPhone 6 under the tree.

I'm not holding my breath, but anyone else get this that ordered in the 9/21 timeframe for the 64gb space gray 6+??
