iPhone 7 Plus on Backorder with ASURION

Hello,

On 12/15/17 I filed a claim for my a lost/stolen Jet Black iPhone 7 Plus 128GB with Asurion. While filing, I was made aware that the phone should be delivered the following day, which would be Saturday. When I completed the claim, (it was approved 12/15/17) I was notified that the JET BLACK iPhone 7 Plus 128 GB was out of stock and that it would be placed on back order. It didn't prompt me to choose a different color of the 128GB iPhone 7 Plus, it only said 'continue with order' or cancel. It's the literal same phone, I don't understand why they wouldn't give me an option to select the same phone but in a color that was in stock..... but I clearly need a phone, so I said continue.

It stated that it would be shipped in an extra 2-3 business days, which I can understand because it's been back ordered.

However today is 12/18/17 and I have just called and been told that it will be 7-10 business days until my replacement will be shipped....

What is the truth here? I'm paying for a phone I don't currently have... so it's extremely frustrating to have this delay that for me, has been delayed twice now.

Am I able to call and ask for a different model be sent ASAP?

I need a phone, as many other people do! How does it make sense to pay for a phone, pay for insurance on that phone, AND the deductible when it's clearly not important to AT&T/Asurion that you get a replacement ASAP?

I'm a very unhappy customer, and my family plan has been with AT&T ever since it was Cingular Wireless!!!

Your agreement with Asurion does not specify color.  As long as the phone is an iPhone 7 Plus  with same storage they will send it.  Irregardless of color.  The problem is they do not have iPhone 7, 8 or X enough to send.

You can ask for a cash settlement, then pay off your existing Next installment and buy a new phone.  Or buy a new phone and keep paying on the existing  phone.

I have reached out to Asurion on Facebook Messenger as well as Twitter Direct Message, and they responded quickly on Twitter. I will see what they say, I did ask for a different color to be sent and they replied saying they will look into it provided I give them the carrier and number associated with my claim... we will see how this goes.

I filed my claim on 11/15/17 and am still waiting for a replacement.  Keep getting emails that it's delayed.  It's currently 12/19!!!

@K1976a  Ask for a cash settlement, they won’t offer it.

How long should I wait until I ask for a cash settlement? And are they more timely about delivering the cash settlement or does that get delayed as well? @lizdance40

Also, in my twitter message they told me they could not offer me a different color at this time, and if I do not have my phone Dec. 26th to reach out to them once again.

Asurion does not have enough of the last 3 iPhones to fulfill claims.  If you don’t want to wait, you have the right to ask for cash.

Wow, this honestly sounds like a scam.

You posted on a 23 month old thread.  No, it wasn’t a scam.  🙄
