iPhone receives repeating words in sms texts

I have an iPhone 6 iOS 10. In group texts I receive duplicate texts from one User who is not on an apple iPhone and is not an at&t user. It doesn’t come through iMessage/text as 2 separate sms texts. It is a single text repeated within itself. Only happens in group texts. Is there a solution? Also worth noting: I am the only user who receives it like this in the group. And Seems to happen only with this contact. When texting one on one with the person I do not get texts like this.

I am sorry you are having trouble texting. I am more than pleased to assist with this.

I definitely understand how important it is to be able to text. The first thing I will suggest is our Troubleshoot & Resolve tool. Please open this link, select your make and model of device, under Service/ network please select messaging and follow the prompts to troubleshoot.

I’m experiencing the same issue in April, 2020 during the Coronavirus Pandemic. I understand that we’re all stressed and AT&T is also dealing with reduced staff and support, but texting us hugely important now and this issue is clearly not new.

Sending someone to a “troubleshoot it yourself” FAQ page is no substitute for actual customer or tech support.
