Why premier customer can not get their iPhone directly from Apple?

My boss ordered his 6+ 128 gray from our company premier account on 9/18, it hasn't ship yet. The window ends on 11/27, two days from now.

I just check apple store online inventory in NYC area, they are available in more stores that I care about.

Back to the original question, why premier customer can not order directly from Apple? Seriously thinking moving our corporate account to Verizon.

I'm not sure what you are referring to... I'm a premier customer, and I have purchased my iPhones directly from Apple in the past with no issues. I'm not sure what makes you think that he can't purchase directly from Apple if he wants to. Since he has ordered from AT&T he would need to cancel his existing order, and get hi upgrade status reversed before he could go to Apple. Also, if he had selected to purchase using NEXT, that might add extra complexity to cancelling, since the NEXT agreement would also need to be cancelled, and reversed so he could get a new NEXT agreement. Also, I'm not sure that all Apple stores sell phones with NEXT for AT&T, so that might be an issue, but if he's purchasing a contract subsidized phone, that's a proverbial piece of cake.

Is your account IRU (Indidvidual Responsibility User) or CRU (Corporate Responsibility User)?  If IRU, you/he should be able to purchase from any retail channel.

We tried inputting his phone number at apple' site and the message was that he must go though AT&T. Believe me, we tried. We have a CRU account.

Anyway, the deadline of Nov 27 came and went, no phone, the update now shows it's backorder, not even an estimated ship day. It's beyond ridiculous now. A phone ordered on Sept. 18?

I know it must not be so, but it really feels like ATT don't want people to subsidize their phone.
