internet air cost

Be careful if you are looking to switch to internet air.  I was quoted my charge would be $35 dollars with autopay if I switched from my internet 12 plan.  Big lie!  It is $55 dollars ($60 without autopay) because I switched from a current ATT internet plan, the $35 is only if you come from a different provider.  I was taken in by the misleading information provided me by the ATT representative.  Now I will continue my search to find a more affordable internet provider as I've lost confidence in ATTs ability to be honest in their sales practices.

Hi @aheyrman,

We understand that you're having trouble with your Internet Air bills, we’re here to help you!

This is not the kind of experience we would want our customer to have. The Community Forums are a public support option where other users, and AT&T, will try and assist with high level support needs.  This means we won’t be able to look into account specific concerns.  To get the help you need for your unique issue, please review our Contact Us page, and choose the best option to reach out to us.  You can call, chat, or reach out via social media, and we can review your specific issue and provide you support.  If you feel your issue isn’t account specific, and can be answered generally, please let us know, and we’ll be happy to help.

Thank you for contacting us on AT&T Community Forums.

I paid $55 a month without autopay for 3 months. Starting this month, they jacked the priced up to $60. Totally deceptive sales practice.

This is my exact same experience as well - conveniently make it not obvious that if you are 'migrating' to Internet Air from an existing AT&T Internet service then the wireless bundled discount doesn't apply.  I found that nowhere in the terms and conditions anywhere nor was I told that by any AT&T representative until well after the point of no return.

AT&T misleads & deceives in every way they can.  They increased my basic Internet 18, claiming my Promotion ended, when I was told it lasted through the month of April, and to call at the end of April or May 1.

And add to this the ridiculous connection speed due to their cheapness at NOT providing a fiber node near me, but the same garbage bonded pairs that go out from rain, snow, heat - you name it.  Otherwise, I'd be getting speeds of at least 50 Mbps for the SAME PRICE.  But tell that to Retention, and you only get excuses.  They don't care if you threaten to drop service, and use the excuse "No promotions are available at this time.  Call later to see if there are any."

BUT, you find out from calling that "New Promotions are not offered at this time."  AND "We are not able to grant any credits for the upcoming months" when they used to have the discretion to give lengthy credits, or reduce the price of your internet.  This is a crooked company.

Yes, you are correct we are not entitled to promotion discounts.  I’ve been made to feel bad about it too.

I would try to keep on top of Att to make sure the service you are paying for is indeed performing correctly.   With Att working to get out of the copper business, this is getting more difficult with each passing day.

Exact same thing happened to me. I’ve spent hours trying to get ATT to give me the $35 monthly deal—I have 6 phones on their wireless plan and they refuse to give me the $35 pricing because I was on another slower cable ATT plan before—for like 8 years by the way. Very frustrated and I am looking to bring my internet elsewhere.

Yeah I peaced out and got 1Gbps internet from Xfinity, no regrets.

Yes, better just because it’s wired.  But be ready for sticker shock once the promotional period expires.
