We are having the exact same problem. We moved to a rural area but were told that the new address is not serviceable prior to our move, however, we are now learning that our neighbors do have service. Neighbors that live on the same street and we can see the AT&T equipment in the neighborhood. We signed up with Hughes Net and used them for two months but took the hit of the termination fee because that service was pretty much useless. I need internet for my work as well. I have made multiple calls to AT&T (they said they have opened a "support help ticket") but basically they are telling me that when they installed what is out there they only did it for a certain amount of customers and we will need to wait until someone cancels to take their spot. I've also been told that until the demand is great enough they won't be adding additional service. Ironically enough, AT&T is soliciting us with flyers in our mail!! I have been round and round with them. I reached out to one of our HOA members that was responsible for acquiring the service that the few do have out here and he is telling me that he actually had to get the Governor involved to accomplish what he did. Ridiculous! There are Hughes Net signs all over my area and AT&T is losing so much business when the fix is probably a very small thing for such a huge company. Good luck!
