My Fiber Home Internet Delayed for almost a month.

My fiber internet has been delayed for over a month without an explanation.  I’m hoping someone can give me any insight or help.

Hello, @Slojave,

Thank you for showing your interest in AT&T Fiber!  We do have some helpful resources which help verify your service availability.

First, this one will be to check the availability of Fiber services at your location.

If the service is available, you can order it from online.  If service is not available and if you believe it should be available in your area, you can fill out an address research request. Just fill out the form, and we'll look into it and get back to you!

We are continually expanding our fiber footprint to more households every day. We recommend signing up for fiber notifications. When fiber is available in your area, we'll let you know!

You can also review this forum about possible reasons why Fiber service is unavailable at your location.

I hope this information helps you out.

Thank you,
 Mike, AT&T Community Forum Specialist

Hi @Slojave,

We understand your concern, and we are here to help.

Since you have confirmed about the delay in the installation. This requires account specific information.

Community Forums are a public support option where other users, and AT&T, will try and assist with high level support needs. This means we won’t be able to look into account specific concerns.  To get the help you need for your unique issue, please review our Contact Us page, and choose the best option to reach out to us. You can call, chat, or reach out via social media, and we can review your specific issue and provide you support.  If you feel your issue isn’t account specific, and can be answered generally, please let us know, and we’ll be happy to help.

Thank you.
Mike, AT&T Community specialist.

LIkely what has happened is that your address is showing up in the availability database as ready to order but when the technician prepared to do the install, he discovered one or more issues that prevent the installation, e.g. the splitter in your PFP or your fiber tap was back ordered and has not yet been installed, etc.  It can be extremely difficult to wrest any information about the situation from AT&T as the level 1 support people you can reach on the telephone don't know anything about it and cannot find out anything, and the people at the local shop who would know something are not reachable by customers.

Same...In McKinney.  Ridiculous.  Husband and I work from home and need internet.  We've been moved in for 2 weeks and they aren't giving us any info except that it won't be until end of April.  But someone else in neighborhood had ATT installing at their home.  We have maxed out our hotspots and we can't stream or use Alexa or anything.  I've been with ATT for 20 years and considering going to Spectrum because not being able to install for a month with no explanation when we were told it's available in our area is unacceptable.  Horrible customer service and no one knows what the other person is talking about, always a different story or telling us something different.  Very disheartening after being with this company for over 20 years.

I’m trying to see if someone can see if there is a limitation or issue in McKinney, TX 75071.  I’m not the only one having issues getting fiber internet installed.  Can someone look into this?

Your expectations Att will act on such requests via forum are unrealistic.

I do not think ATT will act on this information whatsoever.  I was trying to obtain general information.

General information…

if your address has yet to be turned green for ordering but fiber is being deployed, there is no public time frame as to when can expect completion.

If your address has been turned green to order and an issue is discovered that will delay the installation there is no time frame when can expect continuation of process.

Have seen delays take 6 months, but most resolved within 30 days to 90 days.

Most of the work is performed by contractors, may requiring local permits, labor and material shortages.

ATT techs finish the final connections but all boring, conduct, hand holes, pedestals, etc are contracted.

Damaged /collapsed conduit or fiber needing replacement requires the contractor to come back.
