Previous service working with a black tower and wireless access point. Now new self-install kit has nowhere to plug in!

Cancelled AT&T service since I’m moving to a no-go zone. Once it turned off it was inconvenient since we still have about 2 weeks of living back/forth between new and old place. I called to extend 1 month but because it had been turned off (at 1am that morning, kicking myself I didn’t call earlier) I basically needed a new account. Customer service agent said I should be able to just turn off/on old tower and it would refresh.

To my surprise I had equipment delivered for a self-install kit.

We don’t have an AT&T service box to plug into, our black tower was plugged into random wires in the wall our original installer put together.

Light night customer service said a new tech is my only option because our “system is too old.” I’m so confused why this is so frustrating when everything was literally working up until 1am that day.

is really my only option to get a full new installation for about 2 more weeks of use? Ugh

What are the models of the old and new Gateways?

What port on the old was the connection to AT&T plugged in to?

Does the new Gateway have this port?

EDIT: The problem you've probably run into is that they can't connect a VDSL2 account (which you probably had before) when there is fiber available (now).
