Where to Get Info on How to Order Individual Service in a Bulk Service Community

In a couple of months I'll be moving into a new community with AT&T bulk service for WiFi.  There is no cable in the homes and no wiring for a land line, so I will also have to order TV from AT&T and would like to get VOIP phone service.  Where do I go online to do that and/or get information about doing that?  Also, does someone have to come to the house to install something or do I have to do all the setup?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I hope this isn't answer isn't representative of the kind of customer service AT&T offers.  Mine is a very general question about getting service and is in no way account-specific.  Further, I already stated that I'm moving into a community that has bulk service, so there should be no need to "check for AT& T Internet availability."  Are you telling me there's no web page for starting service?  No procedure that can be copied and pasted here?  The Chat is a bot, so completely useless...  I'm already disappointed in AT&T.

What exactly do you mean by "bulk" service? If the homes aren't wired for cable or landlines that leaves either wireless internet or satellite. If you follow the link from ATTHelp that should tell you what kind of internet options you will have. If WiFi is the only option then it's probably AT&T's Internet Air (AIA).

That would most likely be connected communities where you would pay your internet services with your rent, please refer to:

Hello @FanColors

We understand your concern and let's help you with the information you needed.

Despite the fact that your community has service, we ask that you check your service availability by entering your full address along with the unit or floor for Fiber services at your location.

AT&T Internet is a distance-dependent service. If you are too far away from the equipment, certain services may not be available. This means your neighbor may have service but your home cannot.

If the service is available, you can order it from online.  If service is not available and if you believe it should be available in your area. We are continually expanding our fiber footprint to more households every day. We recommend signing up for fiber notifications. When fiber is available in your area, we'll let you know!

Let us know how this works or if you have any other questions.

Thank you.

Bulk service could be one of three different flavors of internet, the oldest being Uverse FTTN platform offering speeds between 25 to 100 depending on copper loop length from fiber fed VRAD. This uses the phone wiring in the unit.

Next would be G.Fast, a fiber to primary point followed by wiring to each unit with equipment needed to connect to primary most often used in apartment buildings with coax feed but can use Ethernet.

Then have FTTP, direct fiber, with a central fiber ran to same location in every unit, often a wiring closet.

Bulk generally means the business pays the expense for everyone and you pay the business often as included charge in your monthly payment (rent or HOA fee).

Instant On is for locations where equipment is pre installed and left for the next tenants that move in.

If equipment not there need equipment to have service which might be shipped to you for self installation or require a tech appointment for installation.

The company providing the bulk service is who you should be asking to know what to expect.

This is a brand new housing development where I believe, but am not sure, there is fiber optic cable for the Internet.  Bulk service, which I have through Xfinity at my old place, is arranged by the HOA and paid for by the HOA fee, then you can add services, e.g., faster WiFi or more cable channels.  In the new place I'm going there's no TV cable to any of the houses and no phone lines, so everything is wireless in some way.   I'm moving over 1,000 miles and have lots to do, so am just trying to gather some info on what to do before or right after closing to get service to my individual house up and running.  AT&T "Chat" was useless.  It's just hard for me to grasp that there's not a web site to support bulk users.

Thanks to everyone who contributed.  I appreciate your efforts.

New construction is likely fiber to each unit, placed in a wiring closet and may be instant on… equipment pre installed, or requiring a tech appointment to terminate fiber and install equipment. Installation may be on the move in date or within 3 days after moving in.

Bulk users would be sub account users of the primary account, the primary account holder should have a local representative to work with directly instead of corporate support.
