cannot delete @bellsouth.net email ***no other solutions have worked***

Hello, I have an old @Bellsouth.net email that is NOT linked to my AT&T account as far as I can tell. It is nowhere in My Profile. It was set up LONG before I was an AT&T customer and before AT&T bought Bellsouth. It has been exactly 30 days since I cancelled my AT&T phone line.

I have tried the following suggestions that DO NOT WORK:

1. contact Yahoo. They said only AT&T can help. When I follow these instructions, I get an error: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN2044.html

2. follow these instructions: https://www.att.com/esupport/article.html#!/email-support/KM1010448

When I go to Profile-->Contact Info-->Email Tab-->Free AT&T Email Account, there is a different email listed.

I am sick of this and have spent hours on the phone with both AT&T and Yahoo, and nobody knows what to do. Get your IT together!

Is any email being sent to it that you might care about?  Do you use it at all?  If not, let it "rot".  Just forget about it.  If nothing is going to it it will eventually deactivate as that article you linked to above (#2) says.

Note since bellsouth.net is an att legacy account then of course yahoo won't have anything to do with it.  It's att's problem.  You could try calling the Digital Assistance Center (877-273-2728) as a last resort -- unless you already called them too.
