Email client in Windows 10 Stopped Working -

Yesterday, the windows mail account I use for ATT EMAIL stopped working. I even setup two new accounts and tried to get email configured in Mail (Windows 10) and while both accounts werre setup and accepted in the ap - my inbox never downloaded - outgoing mail will not send.

THis started yesterday. MY wife also uses MAIL in Windows 10 - and had been using it for the last year and a half with no problems - yesterday - when she tried sending an email - it stayed in her outbox and would not send - incoming mail would not download into her inbox.

it feels as if something changed yesterday at ATT - but I have researched this and found nothing about it. now the only way I can use EMAIL from ATT is to use the Web Based client - and for our purposes that is not satisfactory - I have tried configuring OUTLOOK 2016 and it doesn't work - no email client seems to work -

What happened??? and is there a way to Get MAIL in Windows 10 working again?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem with Outlook 2016 and Windows 10 Mail I get the message Account settings are out of date, when I try and change then settings nothing happens, the password they show in dots is to long to be mine, but when I change it just reverts back.

I deleted the accounts in Outlook and tried to reinstall, now the new account just hangs and won't install.

I can access the web emails, but this is just driving me crazy, I have just received a new laptop, but I want this sorted before I set it up.

I have linked all the accounts I have created a security key, but nowhere am I asked to insert it,

I found a web page showing the screenshots of Outlook 2016/19 with a box to do so, but mine does not.

When I try and do it through the automated web process, it sends me to a ne page where there are NO follow up items to click on.

I have chatted on line with several people but still no answer.

Now when I try and post I can't log in.

Hey @Jackdusty,

Are you using the Secure Mail Key as your password?

For Outlook you would use your Secure Mail Key instead of your password because it's not Oauth compatible. Clear your save password log to remove any save password attached to your browser. Please let us know if that helps.
