How do I edit the email From section?

I have an SBCGlobal/Yahoo email account and cannot edit the email FROM section.

When I view my account it does not show my full name but when I send an email the recepient see my full name. I see no option in the settings (via cog wheel).

I am using (IE) webmail.

I would like to edit the email "From" since using my full name could present a security problem.

What is the procedure to edit the email From?

My setup is a bit more complicated.  I have several external accounts defined in "Accounts" and one of them is set as default sending account.

That said, when I edit the "Yahoo account" at the top of the page, change the Sending Name and define that (sbcglobal.net) address as the default sending account, a new outgoing message shows the edited name in the From box.  So I'm sorry to say it works for me.

I see there has been many views but no comments on how I can delete my name in (or edit) the e-mail FROM section.
I guess now I will have to get into a finger pointing debate between Yahoo and AT&T.

The finger pointing has started.

Problem is my account is with SBCGLOBAL which is AT&T, which has Yahoo as the email provider. I contacted ATT - no solution. When I try to contact Yahoo ->

Our records show your Yahoo account is provided by AT&T

Because your Yahoo access is provided through your AT&T account, all support for account and email issues will be provided by AT&T.
If your issue is related to another Yahoo product, you can return to our form and choose another product for support.

In Settings choose Accounts. You'll see the "Yahoo Account" and possibly some entries in "Accounts".  One of these will be shown as the "Default sending account".  Edit that account, I think you can change the Sending Name there.

I already checked those links, but did not post screen print due to privacy/security concernes.

My profile only shows my first name.

My Account shows my first name and only the first letter of my last name.

However, as stated above when I send an email the "To:" includes both my first and last name.

The only explanation I can come up with is Yahoo is accessing my SBC billing information

and this does not give me a good feeling.

lem3, thanks.

After spending 45 minutes with ATT and getting no response from Yahoo I was about to give up.

Today I got a call from ATT (2nd level support?) and resolved the issue.

Your solution is the same.

Now, if Yahoo would clarify the difference between the

"Edit"  button on the "Yahoo Account" line

and the link

"Edit Your Account Info" it will help.
