Is AT&T and/or Yahoo aware of the huge wave of phishing/fraud emails coming in lately?

As an AT&T email account holder I get a lot of spam/phishing/fraud emails from accounts impersonating AT&T and/or Yahoo employees. Multiple times a day in fact. Normally I can just completely ignore these things and pretend I am not even getting them. Within the last couple of months though it's gotten worse. Now I get at least 4-5 a week that make it into my regular inbox.

For me personally it's more of a minor inconvenience/nuisance. I mark them as phishing emails, they're deleted, end of story. For me at least. There are probably countless less technologically experienced users than people like me who are getting their info, money, and identities stolen because of operations like this.

Is there anything that can be done about this to protect vulnerable users? Below is an example of the kind of email I am talking about. This is one I received today to my inbox.

Clearly not AT&T nor Yahoo, they are merely trying to phish for my personal information. At best they are trying to gain access to my email account so they can try to hold it for ransom. At worst they want to empty my bank account, frame me, and get me thrown in prison. Either way is a complete lose-lose situation.

These organizations need to be stopped.

Thanks

I am having some trouble getting the embedded image to display on my end. Maybe you guys can see it. It's the phishing email I received today.
