Outbound SMTP connections seem blocked

Searching provides links that are no longer valid and besides I do not want to hijack another thread anyway.

Outbound SMTP seems to be blocked and if so I'd like the port opened.

Thanks.

What do you base this conclusion on?  If it is an email problem are you sure you are using the proper server settings as specified here?

My SMTP server shows attempts to connect on port 25 to timeout.  I am not using AT&T's mail service, i.e., the connections are not being made to outbound.att.net or smtp.mail.att.net, they are to other mail servers from my own (MTA to MTA).

Port 25 is blocked for spamming reasons.  I think you can get 25 unblocked but I believe it costs $49 to do it.  Start by contacting ATT ConnecTech support.  That link shows a telephone number (866.294.3464) and the ConnecTech webpage.
