SBCGLOBAL email was suspended

We moved two months ago to a new residence.  At the old residence we had DSL.  At the new residence we had to sign up for U-Verse.  I was told we would get to keep our sbcglobal email addresses because they are free emails to us.  All of a sudden, as the clock struck midnight on Monday, August 31st, we could no longer access our sbcglobal accounts.  When we sign in, we get a message that our email account has been suspended because our internet services were suspended.  It tells me to push a button to transfer my information to a new yahoo address so that I can preserve all of my emails, settings, etc.  I have been on the phone with about 6 different people at AT&T over that last 36+ hours and no one can figure out what is going on or why.  All of our AT&T accounts have been checked and we owe no outstanding balance on any of them (new or old accounts).  I am getting sick and tired of no one being able to unsuspend our accounts.  I have used this email address for almost 15 years and do not want to change it and have to notify every one under the sun.  First, can anyone tell me how to get it unsuspended?  Last, if I choose the transfer information button, will anyone who tries to email me at my sbcglobal address be able to get through to me?  Meaning, I wouldn't have to give anyone a new email address ever?

I too have experienced a suspended sbcglobal account and based on the fact that I have tried for three weeks to resolve the issue and no one in this community has bothered to assist you, I'd say we are screwed and no one cares. For 20+ years, I held a Yahoo email account that currently holds a huge history of my life and because it was set up by me, long before being affiliated with ATT, I assumed it was safe. It appears that ATT has decided to steal all of my info and hold it ransome because of a location that was not in my name nor was I a responsible owner of the DSL account or accountable for making the monthly payments, even though I received my email via that connection.

er wish to see my emails

I have suddenly been listed as being responsible for a bill that I was never listed as responsible for making payments, even though I have never signed a contract and I'm fairly certain this is an illegal act. So, any ideas on how to begin bringing suit against a huge corporation who uses extortion against a citizen? That is the charge as I am told that I must satisfy a bill that I never incurred if I ever wish to see my email again. Pitiful !
