Switching from paid to free ATT email

Paying for an ATT dialup and email  account since forever. Moved to an area where  ATT does not provide Internet DSL service. I would like to continue using my existing ATT email address and changing to FREE ATT/YAHOO.  Is this possible or do I have to change my primary Address?

Hello @mjmchmura

If your email account is merged with myAT&T account, you'll need to unmerge them first, see this link for instructions:

Unmerging your AT&T and Yahoo Email accounts

If that's not the case, then there is nothing you need to do, your email will stay active even after you cancel your service. Here is a quote from the Terms of Service page:

"5. Termination or Cancellation of Service

a.  Cancellation of Service by Customer. When you cancel your Service, your account ID e-mail address will remain active, as will all e-mail subaccounts you have created. The e-mail accounts may be accessed from the att.net website."

I hope this helps.

Thank you,

Dmitriy
