LG V410 tablet - what is the phone number for?

I was talked into getting a tablet (LG V410) added to my family plan.  I starting to like it more and more...

Question I have is - there is a "Tablet phone number" noted on several screens, is the device supposed to have the capability to make/recieve calls/texts?  When I call the number from another phone, I get a "The person you are trying to reach is not accepting calls at this time..." message.

Is there some activation that didn't happen? Some setting I need to adjust? An app to download?

Tablets cannot use the "phone number" for calls or text messages.   The number is only for data recording.

You can use Google voice,  Skype or oovoo for voice or video calls   These are free apps and will assign a number for calls.

Looking up data. I would just like to buy a leather folding case for it. The # is ***

@Jenny-be

Please note this is a customer populated forum and NOT ATT.

we have no idea what device you are writing about.   If you want a case, I suggest you shop Amazon.  Prices are less than half what you would pay at ATT or Best Buy.
