Need QR Code to set up eSim

Have compatible iPhone and the necessary IMEI codes, but having trouble copying and pasting them using the ATT directions. First time setting up eSim. Leave in 2 days. Have already purchased eSim for Portugal and following directions to capture a QR code, but don't have the code from ATT. Hope you can help.

What type of SIM are you trying to set up?  Prepaid or postpaid?  Are you trying to do this in the U.S. or in a foreign country?  You can’t activate an AT&T SIM unless you can connect to the U.S. AT&T cell network, which means you have to do it in the U.S.

Thank you dwill05.

I am following directions on ATT's site - for two hours.  I have cellular wireless service (over 20 years) and want to activate eSim for thee first time.  Today I purchased eSim

Service for Portugal.  We are leaving in two days.  I started contacting ATT about this process for two weeks now.   I am in Colorado, USA.

What else can I tell you?

What do you mean you purchased eSIM service for Portugal?  AT&T doesn’t sell SIMs for foreign countries.  Not sure the relevance of a Portuguese eSIM to what you’re trying to do.  You bought a eSIM for US AT&T correct?  And you’re trying to activate the eSIM you bought for US AT&T while you are still in the US, correct?  Was the eSIM  you purchased for prepaid or postpaid service?  What phone, and is the phone unlocked?  If you’ve had cell service for 20 years, why are you getting a new eSIM?

I thought you were asking about the International eSim service I purchased.

Sorry.  I purchased International prepaid eSim service from a company called, Airalo, today not ATT.  I have not specifically purchased anything called eSim in addition to the cellular service from ATT. The ATT instructions said to go to Settings on iPhone/Cellular/Add eSIM. Use QR Code.  I cannot see a QR code.  The Phone 13 Pro I own fully and it is not restricted for eSim. It is unlocked.  My apology I thought buying an additional eSim for International travel would be called buying an additional or new card.

Yes, I am trying to activate the eSIM I bought with my iPhone from Apple and my continuing cellular service from ATT.

I am still in the US and leave the country on the 5th of March.

So if I understand you're still somewhat confusing post you are in the United States you have AT&T service you are keeping your AT&T service.

You have purchased a QR card for a Portuguese service provider and are trying to add that information to activate Portuguese service on your iPhone while you are still in the United States.

Yes ?

If that Portuguese service provider works anything like AT&T prepaid, you have jumped the gun and you should be waiting until you land in Portugal.   You have to be able to connect to the carrier to activate service, pay for service which means you have to be in their country.

But that's only a guess. In order to know how their service works and how it can be added to your phone you have to ask that service provider, not AT&T
