Did your phone meet ALL of the unlocking requirements mentioned on the unlocking portal?

You likely have to try using a different email provider, especially if you’re using Gmail.

Hello @jangelv,

We hear you, and we would like to help you with device unlock.

Please ensure that the device meets the below unlock requirements:

  • AT&T phone or device
  • Not active on another AT&T account
  • You must wait 60 days from purchase date (Installment Plan pay off & Pay in Full).
  • Not reported as lost or stolen or involved with fraud.
  • Account is not past due if less than 30 days.

You can submit a request a device unlock using the link:  https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/. Once you submit the request, we will review the details and help you further with unlocking the device.

Hope this helps! Feel free to revert further assistance.

Thank you for contacting AT&T Community & Forums,

Hello, I used Gmail, so do I have to wait a day and try again with another email?

Hi @jangelv, thanks for replying. To answer your question give it 24-48 hours to get a result for device unlock request that you submitted, and try again later with the email address associated with your device's AT&T account.

We hope that helps.

Gmail automatically blocks the confirmation emails from AT&T.  The way around that is to use a different email provider.

@dwill05  I hadn't heard that. Why does Gmail block AT&T confirmation emails?

That's not true at all. I used Gmail and get the emails just fine. Why would you just blatantly lie?

@krylic  I use Gmail for my secondary, throw-away email accounts and get confirmation emails just fine. But, I don't use AT&T/Yahoo email for anything. Never have never will. So have you ever received a confirmation email from AT&T via your Gmail account?
