Will iCloud items automatically go to my new iPhone 6?

My iCloud is set to back up photos, contacts and calander. So when I get my 6, will those items migrate to the new phone once I log in? It's getting confusing now with ICloud drive which I'm not using since I use MS One drive.

It should but you need to also sync your phone with iTunes so that if something goes wrong with iCloud, you will still be able to plug your phone into iTunes and get everything back.

One point to remember is that iCloud sync only works on wifi right now. If you aren't connected to wifi, then it won't sync until you do connect.

@rarebeauty Thanks. I'll do a local backup as well.

Important: Don't upgrade to iCloud Drive just yet. The service, which makes sure you have the most up to date versions of your documents everywhere, only works on iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite, which has not yet been released to the public. This means you could potentially be unable to access your documents on another device.

iOS 8 is available to the public. I have an iPhone 5; I uploaded iOS 8 two days ago, on 9/19/2014. But, not all of the iOS 8 features that work on the IPhone 6 are available on earlier models, or if they do, I haven't found it all yet.
