AT&T Prepaid Multi-Line Discount Charges
I am currently having a line under the AT&T Multi-Line discount plan ($45/month plan) which is managed by my friend and he pays $161.90 every month for 5 lines. Recently, my friend and I have removed ourselves from the multi-line plan and changed to the individual plan three weeks ago since we are currently abroad and roaming service is not available on AT&T prepaid. However, when the data plan renewed last week, my friend was charged $161.90 despite having only 3 lines in the multi-line discount plan which baffled me.
Any clarification on why he is charged the same amount although there are fewer members in the discount plan and what can he do for the next billing cycle to ensure that the charges will be lesser?

If you made the change before the renewal date, he should not have been charged the same amount. Presuming all 5 lines were on the same $45 plan, line 4 and 5 should be $20 and $20, so he should have been charged at least $40 less. Are you sure you got removed from the multiline plan? The account owner has to initiate that.

Thanks for the information! I guess it was a mistake on my end because I removed myself from the multiline plan through the portal but the account owner did not remove me on his end. That might be the reason why he was still being charged. This time I have made sure that he has removed me from the multiline plan before the renewal date but he said that AT&T just deducted $161.90 from his credit card despite the plan renewal date is on the 18th. Is this because he has autopay set up which causes the amount to be credited into his account? Will this mean that on the 18th only the payment for 3 lines will be charged from the credited amount?
