At&t 5g+ coverage question.

How often does the At&t coverage map get updated? In downtown Fort Wayne, Indiana I have 5g+ on my S22 Ultra on band n77 and the map says i still shouldn't have it? 300mbps+ download and 50mbps+ upload.

What’s downtown in Fort Wayne?

Based upon past company statements 5G+ …

On its website, AT&T confirms it now offers 5G in over 24,000 cities and towns across the U.S. At the same time, AT&T's 5G+ network is also available across the country. AT&T's 5G+ network is divided into two options – the 5G+ millimeter wave option is the fastest, but is deployed only in high-traffic areas. At the moment, it's available in parts of over 50 cities and over 70 venues and airports. The 5G+ network mid-band spectrum offers faster speeds than regular 5G, but is still not as fast as the mmWave version. However, it's more widely available.

Downtown Fort Wayne is mostly offices and businesses. I can only get the 5g+ from one tower that I saw them working on earlier. It was a t company one because it always messed up my satellite radio when near it.

Question: would I get faster speeds if I was on the Unlimited Premium plan? I am currently on the budget $50 Unlimited one device plan.

Would not expect faster speed than what the tower supports…

Extras on Unlimited Premium includes

* no slow down during busy time, or after certain data used, receive  priority connection

(under this case of network busy time would be faster instead of reduced)

* larger hotspot data plan for your device to share than your current plan

* 4KHD streaming compared to standard streaming, in part due to the unlimited data

* unlimited talk, text, data in 20 Latin American countries

The premium plan assured priority.  It has nothing to do with speeds.  That is strictly tower output.

My train of thought was: If I had premium I wouldn't be throttled, since it seems to be the only 5g+ tower in the area. I most likely could've been throttled?

The map now states 5g+ in the area. Also side note on my S22 Ultra the switch to turn Standalone 5g on or off is able to be switched on or off. S22 Ultra firmware: S908USGS5EXE2

Coverage maps really just indicate how far a specific can be detected. They do not indicate usability of that signal. If you only have one tower that is capable of 5G+, and it is saturated, you're going to get slower speeds. Nothing you can really do about that whether you are Premium or not. Could be that your phone is part of the problem as well.
