AT&T Mobile calls to Verizon Mobile numbers sometimes goes to dead air
For over a year now, I've had an intermittent problem where I call some people, and if they don't answer or they forward me to their voicemail, I don't hear their greeting. I just hear dead air and never even get the chance to leave a message. I've waited as long as 3 minutes to see if anything happens, and nothing does. The person I call tells me they show a missed call from me, but never even get a voice message. It doesn't happen all the time. And it seems to be mostly when I call someone who has a Verizon mobile phone.
Has anyone else experienced this?

As I mentioned, this has been happening for over a year. I restart my phone every other week, and power off and power back on my phone the weeks I'm not restarting it. I also have auto-updates turned on so that I immediately update to the latest OS as soon as it is available.

Hello, @hconstantzos! Thank you for letting us know the troubleshooting steps you have already tried.
Let's meet in a Direct Message to further troubleshoot your calls to Verizon customers. Please check your Direct Message Inbox (it's that the chat icon next to the bell icon in the upper right corner of the Forums). Once you are there, we continue this over phone or in chat if you prefer.

I've tried a couple of times to join the chat, but no one is there. Unfortunately, I am not able to join chats as soon as I receive a notification that someone can chat with me. Can we setup a time for me to chat with someone?

Today at 2:30 PM Eastern US would be a good time. Do I need to log back in to receive it, or can you email it to me?

I'm currently having the same issue. Was anything ever resolved? I spent 2 1/2 hours on the phone with At&T and they say it's not an issue on their end. That is true, because AT&T customers can leave voicemails as well as T-Mobile, just not Verizon (that I know of so far). Even worse, when I try my phone from a landline at work which requires a 9 to call out, it gives me a busy signal. I'm clearly not on my phone while calling myself. Yet, when you call from a normal house landline, it does go to voicemail. What in the heck is going on AT&T? Most of my friends use Verizon and I can't get voicemail from them? I guess I'll switch to them if this can't resolve itself.
(Writing this is probably as useless as blowing in the wind because I know I'll receive some auto-response asking me to reboot my phone etc. Again, two and one half hours with tech support today, and they couldn't tell me what's wrong.)

No word yet. AT&T looked into it and everything works from their side. Verizon looked into it and everything works from their side. Meanwhile the problem still exists.

I have a friend with AT&T who calls my Verizon phone and complains of this all the time. She's the only one. No one else, no matter what service provider they have, has this issue.

I narrowed it down to it happening whenever this one person's phone is connected to wifi. She has wifi calling turned on. It also seems to happen with another friend. One has an iphone and the other has a samgsung. Maybe it's a wifi calling issue.
